Membership subscriptions are charged at either an individual or Institutional level. You can join HEaTED at any time during the year by completing the on-line Membership Nomination Form.

When an Institution joins and payment of the fees has been cleared, membership documentation and information will be sent to a key individual for circulation to all technical and related staff. This will provide instructions on how to self-register through the HEaTED website, and how to draw on the benefits of membership.

Fees for 2011/12 are set on a variable scale, dependent on the number of Technical staff employed within the Institution:

Members must ensure that all usernames and passwords provided on registration to allow access to restricted areas remain confidential and will not permit any person, other than the registered user, to access the service.

HEaTED endeavour at all times to provide relevant and up-to-date information and resources, but to the fullest extent permitted under the law the HEaTED website and its contents is provided on an ‘as is’ basis and makes no representation or warranties of any kind with respect to the site and its contents.

HEaTED is committed to protecting your personal information and will act in accordance with current legislation to meeting current best practice with regard to the processing of personal data wherever possible.

Any personal information provided by you or collected by us in connection with use of this site will be used to enhance your use of the service and to enable us to provide products and services which are tailored for your needs. We will not knowingly pass on personal information to any 3rd party without prior consent.

The onsite materials are provided by HEaTED for the sole use of the member Institution and its registered users on condition that are accessed, viewed, downloaded, stored and used solely for the internal purposes of the registered member.

HEaTED acknowledges that the information and copyright in the member resources will be owned by the providing member. HEaTED is hereby granted a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty free licence to place and/or host such member materials on this website for the sole access of the registered users.

No copyright notices may be removed from the onsite materials and the member Institutions shall ensure that their users do not remove any copyright notices from the onsite HEaTED materials.

HEaTED reserves the right to discontinue service provision to any member Institution and/or individual registered users where they are deemed to be in breach of the above agreed terms of use of the website.

Applicants will receive written confirmation of booking within 10 working days of an application being received by the HEaTED team.

The course fee must be paid, in full, no later than 28 days prior to the start of the course and for late bookings as soon as the booking is received. HEaTED reserves the right to re-allocate the course place to another delegate if fees are not paid on time. Failure to receive the course fee in adherence with these terms means that HEaTED reserves the right to request payment on the first day of the course.

If a course spans more than one academic budget year it may be possible, with prior agreement, to pay by instalments. All payments must be made in sterling. Cheques should be made payable to the “Myscience”. In the event of late payment, HEaTED reserves the right to charge interest on all outstanding amounts at the rate of 2% per calendar month or part thereof from the last date that payment was due to the date that payment is made.

Details of individual course fees are provided at www.heated.ac.uk where applicable, VAT is also payable at the current rate. The following services may either be included within quoted fees or else may be quoted separately, depending upon the specific course:

Joining instructions are normally e-mailed to the delegate’s registered e-mail account at least 7 days before the start of a course. If you have not received your joining instructions 3 days prior to the course please email info@heated.ac.uk

Delegates are asked to notify info@heated.ac.uk of any special requirements (e.g. access, dietary) at least 14 days before the start of a course.

All cancellations to bookings must be made at least 28 days prior to the start of a course. If a booking is cancelled within 28 days of the course start date, or if the delegate fails to attend the course, the full course fee remains payable.

In certain circumstances it may be possible to substitute a colleague at no extra cost, to transfer to an alternative date for the same course, or to transfer to an alternative course.

There will be no charge if the customer wishes to replace the original delegate with a substitute. Please inform info@heated.ac.uk of any change to the original booking.

If a delegate wishes to transfer a booking to an alternative date for the same course or to an alternative course, a request must be made to info@heated.ac.uk at least 28 days prior to the start of the original course. If HEaTED is able to accept the request, there will be no charge other than, if applicable, the additional cost of the alternative course above that of the original course.

If the transfer request is received by HEaTED within 28 days of the original course start date, there will be an administrative charge of £100 plus VAT.

We reserve the right to cancel or re-schedule courses without prior notice, and to amend or alter published programmes, fees, venues and lecturers, and without liability.

In these circumstances, delegates will be offered an alternative date for the same course, an alternative course, a credit note or a full refund.
