The utilisation of gases in the potentially hazardous laboratory environment may present a unique set of risks; these risks are no less serious even where users work with gas products on a less frequent or involved basis.

This workshop is intended for those usesr who simply utilise gases in a process without being required to fit regulators, decant cryogens or exchnage cylinders. The wrkshop comprises a 2 hour classroom session which provides an introduction to the hazards and properties of common laboratory compressed and cryogenic gases

Classroom Session:
* Hazards and properties fo common gases
* Oxygen deficiency
* Oxygen Enrichment
* Cylinders, construction and safety devices
* Cryogenic vessels, construction and safety devices
* Cryogens, hazards from cold, spillage, first aid for cold burns
* PPE
