An overview of the legislative background and standards that cover the uses of sources of ionising radiation (including the enactment of the European Optical Directive in 2010). There will be an introduction to the types of lasers in common use and the hazards arising therefrom, and this will be followed by discussions on practical measures that can be taken, e.g. engineering controls, administrative measures and PPE. Facility design will also be considered.. |
